RECENT WORK OF GEORGE KRAUSE

With the help of Marilyn Griffin I have added several new sections to this site. This new format will facilitate updating images in the future.

CURRENT EXHIBITIONSClick here to view...
The Texans, Wimberley High School's football team, are the state champs in 2005.

PREVIOUS EXHIBITIONSClick here to view...
The Sfumato portraits in this section feature indivuals from many countries and many walks of life. I would like to thank the American Academy in Rome, the Harris Gallery, the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, the Dean Jensen Gallery and the Berman Gallery for their assistance.

FUTURE EXHIBITIONSClick here to view...
These Sfumato nudes are life size (44"x80"). A special light box with scrim was built in the breezeway of my barn.

SFUMATO SERIESClick here to view...
Although the exhibition pages above also feature the Sfumato portraits this section is the only one dedicated to my Sfumato technique.
In the Sfumato Portraits, "...conventional portraiture has been sublimated with the photographer exchanging the role of portraitist for that of geographer and geologist."

SANTOSClick here to view...
Although I am known primarily as a photographer I have explored and produced works in many other media: drawing, intaglio and wood sculpture.
The Santos series was inspired by Renaissance religious sculptures found in the Catholic churches around the world.
